It's a netPARTY not a netWORK: celebrating ten years of North East Together, celebrating ten years of mutual support, inspiration and collaboration
North East Together launched in November 2014 with a mission of mutual support, inspiration and collaboration for leaders of social change in the north east. We think it's about time we celebrated all that we've been up to over the last ten-ish years.
We've met in-person and online, all with a focus on informal networking, platformed inspiring speakers and helped members have their own voice, asking questions and reflecting together, maximising opportunities for everyone to take part. Together we've scraped through a global pandemic, supporting NET members with coaching and action learning. We've formed collaborative working groups, led and inspired new initiatives, and hosted collaborative events and conferences.
We've tweaked things a little over the years - from leaders of social change to social change leadership shifting from a noun to a verb, from something you are to something you do. And to using more systems and complexity informed language.
But most of all we've seeded and nurtured relationships and connections, the essential building blocks of social change and collaboration.
This is all something to celebrate.
Our netPARTY in July includes connecting and nurturing relationships, portrait making, comment wall, a screening of North East Together members' memories and thoughts on the themes of mutual support, inspiration and collaboration, as well as conversation and socialising. We'll share more of the programme soon as well as how to contribute your memories and thoughts to the short film.
We can't wait to see you in July.
Our outline timings are
17:00-17:30 - arriving, settling in, mingling and informal networking
17:30-19:00 – it's a netPARTY not a netWORK
19:00 to later - more informal networking, socialising, and conversation
About North East Together
Our collective mission here at North East Together is to create the conditions, and platform for, collaboration to become the norm in the north east and to nurture a healthier social change system. Together we can do this.
We believe that bringing people together to tackle social injustice will create positive change - in our communities, organisations and the social systems we live and work within. Our network offers mutual support, enables collaboration and inspires social leaders. We offer a series of dynamic network events; whole day events; self-organised collaborative working groups; pathways into coaching; and independent social change events. It’s for leaders from the voluntary, charity, social enterprise, education, public and private sectors. It’s for experienced, new and future leaders of organisations, work, and ideas.
North East Together is hosted and supported by Yes We Can.
